Legion Golf Classic to make welcome return

After a COVID-enforced absence, the Killarney Legion GAA Club Golf Classic is making a welcome return to your diary.
Seán Murphy and his team are delighted to announce that the club’s Annual Golf Classic is back with a bang on Friday, May 6. The event will be staged at one of Ireland's most picturesque courses, the famed but equally fair O'Mahony's Point. It’s the kind of course that any golfer can enjoy regardless of experience or skill levels.
Funds raised at the Legion Golf Classic help the club to continue to improve their facilities in Derreen.
“We are committed to providing our members and the broader Killarney community with the best facilities possible to enhance their health and wellbeing”, club PRO Enda Walshe explains.
“Every week, hundreds of families use the facilities in the club and over the past few years, these facilities have been upgraded substantially - including excellent floodlighting, upgrading and resurfacing of our two main pitches, and the installation of a third smaller training pitch. We have also upgraded our gym facilities to incorporate all ages and sections of the club.
“We are running our golf classic so we can continue to fund these developments. If you would like to support us, now is your chance.”
The club say they are delighted to welcome the Gleneagle Hotel and Apartments as the main sponsor of the event and all involved are very grateful to Patrick and the O’Donoghue Family for their marvellous support.
A team of three is €300 and a tee box can be sponsored for €100. For more details, contact any Legion Golf Classic Committee members.
