Kerry release new jersey ahead of All-Ireland semi-final
by Adam Moynihan
Kerry GAA have unveiled a new commemorative home jersey that pays tribute to the great Kingdom teams of the 1920s and 1930s.
The green and gold O'Neills shirt features a photo of the 1929 panel on one sleeve and an image of Sam Maguire being raised on the other. The gold band includes every year in which the Kerry footballers have won an All-Ireland, and the words ‘Mise Ciarraí’ are emblazoned across the upper back.
It is not yet known if the jersey will be worn in a match.
The regular fit can be purchased on the Kerry GAA Store website for €70 with the player fit option retailing at €75. Children’s sizes are available for €45 to €50. Manufacturers O'Neills are also selling the jersey via their website.
Kerry legends Mikey Sheehy and Colm Cooper joined current star David Clifford at the product launch at Killarney’s Fitzgerald Stadium. The Fossa superstar, who is hoping to lead The Kingdom to their 38th All-Ireland title in the coming weeks, is the focus of O’Neills’ promotional campaign for the new shirt.
Peter Keane's side will face Tyrone in the rescheduled All-Ireland semi-final next Saturday, August 21 at 3pm in Croke Park. If they are victorious, they will line out in the All-Ireland final on Saturday, September 4. That match has also been fixed for 3pm.
