There are concerns that the spread of COVID-19 has “gone out of control,” in the Killarney area.
The Mayor of Killarney, Cllr Brendan Cronin, has made an urgent plea for people to obey the current Level 5 restrictions.
Addressing an online meeting between elected councillors and Kerry County Council officials earlier this week, Cllr Cronin asked people to stay at home in an effort to suppress the virus.
There is concern that there are high levels of COVID-19 in the Killarney area.
“Stay at home,” he told the meeting. “This cursed virus seems to be out of control, we all know families of someone who has it and there are a lot of people who are very ill.”
