New footpaths for Daltons Avenue
By Sean Moriarty
Work on new footpaths in Dalton’s Avenue is expected to be completed this week.
The works are taking place near the car park entrance to Fitzgerald Stadium and Kerry County Council contractors are using the opportunity to replace a faulty water main on the street too.
The repair works remain possible after Cllr Brendan Cronin granted €4,500 from his annual councillor funding allocation.
“Work should be finished on Friday,” Cllr Cronin told the Killarney Advertiser. “It was sensible to do the water pipe at the same time. It is only a small section of footpath, I wish I could do more but it’s a start.”
Brewsterfield-based Michael Lynch Civil Engineering is carrying out the works on behalf of Kerry County Council and Killarney Municipal District.
