Kind-hearted Clifford donates his jersey

By Michelle Crean
He may have been named Man of the Match after Kerry beat Mayo on Sunday – but GAA super footballer David Clifford was man of the moment just hours earlier.
In the Dunloe Hotel David spotted Helen Hegarty, a resident of St Mary of the Angels, and offered his jersey to her.
“It was an unreal experience for him to approach us totally out of the blue and give his jersey to Helen,” Helen’s care worker, Críostóir Grayson, told the Killarney Advertiser.
“We were relaxing, myself, my colleague Regina Byrne, and Helen in the grounds of the Dunloe Hotel when the Kerry team were arriving prior to their clash with Mayo...when David came up to us. What a remarkable young man.”
