Organised by UNESCO Kerry Biosphere, the South Kerry and Development Partnership, the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), and Kerry County Council, the event offered a variety of workshops, talks, and outdoor field trips.
The Anam Centre served as the base for the weekend's activities, while additional events took place in Killarney town center, Killarney National Park, and Cronin's Yard.
Aimed at both adults and children, the gathering featured a diverse range of activities, including walks, talks, and workshops. Participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique nature of Kerry through workshops that covered various topics, from ornithology to entomology and ecology
Events included an Urban Biodiversity Walk through the town centre with the Irish Wildlife Trust Kerry Branch and Woodland Ecology Walk through Killarney National Park with Park Rangers.
The Harvest Gathering Weekend was a successful event that showcased the area’s natural beauty and the importance of biodiversity conservation.
