St. Brigid's Presentation School has been awarded Killarney Autism Friendly Town Champion status.

Principal Róisín Moore expressed her gratitude to the students and staff for their dedication in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all learners.

She highlighted the school's commitment to recognising the unique needs and abilities of every student.

St. Brigid's Presentation has implemented various strategies to support their neurodiverse students.
These include the presence of a therapy dog, Zoomer, to provide comfort and companionship, comprehensive education about autism and neurodiversity for all students, regular consultation with students, parents, and staff.

Communication boards are placed throughout the school building and grounds, social stories and visual guides created by SNAs to help students prepare for outings, a designated quiet space within the school.

Other plans include tabletop games club during lunchtime, participation in autism training programs, the ongoing efforts of the Yellow Flag team to promote inclusion and diversity, and the Amber Flag team's focus on positive mental health among the student community.
