Students were left smiling in Killarney Community College on Friday as they welcomed seven special puppies into their school.
The surprise visit left them very happy as they excitedly played and cuddled with the specially trained pups.
They were brought in by local woman Deirdre Prendergast who is the owner and breeder of the special dogs being trained to go onto homes and schools where they will provide great comfort and care to those who need it.
Guidance counsellor Niamh Mulligan was delighted to welcome the puppies into the school.
"The pups created a huge buzz of excitement in the school," she said.
"They brought immediate smiles to all faces including the teachers. It's an amazing initiative and research shows how what a positive effect they can have on young people's well-being thanks to the dog's specialised training."
