Appeal for old London-Killarney photographs
By Sean Moriarty
Organisers of the Killarney London Reunion are appealing for old photographs related to towns’ people who have connections to the British capital.
The Killarney London Reunion will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year and for the first time ever the event will take place in Killarney.
Traditionally, the reunion took place in either Wembley or Cricklewood but this year’s event will take place on October 8 in the Dromhall Hotel and will form one of the main events in the recently launched ‘An Turas Mór – Homecoming Kerry’ festival.
Organisers hope to publish a booklet that traces the history of the Killarney London Reunion and have appealed to locals and Londoners to share old photographs and stories to be included in the publication.
“People found loads of old material during the lockdowns and we are appealing to them to loan us the photos and other materials that could be included. The booklet will be offered for sale - for a small fee to cover costs - during the reunion,” said organiser and local councillor, Donal Grady, who is a founding member of the Killarney London Reunion.
