In recent weeks artist Curtis Hylton assisted by Magda Karol, were busy developing a vibrant mural along a section of the recently opened Flesk Cycleway in Killarney.

It's all part of a project by Creative Ireland Kerry in partnership with Kerry County Council and Creative Ireland.

The images depict some of the flora and fauna that surround the area. It is intended that the mural will add vibrancy and creativity to the cycleway and enhance the public's appreciation of the natural world that surrounds Killarney.

The programme's focus is to bring creativity into communities towards greater societal well-being.

There are many projects across Kerry, with a variety of focus and delivery. Killarney Municipal District is developing more creative offerings to celebrate and inform locals and visitors on key aspects of the local area, ancient traditions and living culture.

The mural is funded under the Creative Ireland Kerry Programme and was undertaken by The Walls Project.
