Track resurfacing works to begin in National Park
M
Members of the public are being asked to exercise care in the National Park while essential repairs works take place on its tracks and roads.
The works are due to start today (Friday) and will continue for a number of weeks.
The works are spread over three main areas - Knockreer, Muckross House/Muckross Abbey to the Main Gate and the southern section of the Dinis Loop (from Brikeen Bridge to the intersection with the N72).
It is proposed that the contractor will operate a system of rolling road and track closures for short periods over the term of the contract.
“The management of Killarney National Park and the National Parks and Wildlife Service at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage would ask the public to take all precautions during the works period and to obey the road closures as they occur,” said a Killarney National Park spokesperson.
“The management regrets any inconvenience these essential road safety works may cause and would greatly appreciate your cooperation.”
