Susan Goodwillie to feature at Soul Talks Live

The newly appointed Creative Director of West End House School of Arts, Susan Goodwillie, will be the guest speaker at the next Soul Talks Live event in Anam Arts and Cultural Centre on Friday, October 10, at 7.30pm.

Ms Goodwillie has extensive experience in the performing industry and brings a wreath of knowledge to the conversation.

She is a graduate of Musical Theatre and lived in New York city for 9 years.

She has performed on off Broadway stages and appeared on television in Medium and ER.

She was the co-founder of SPACE on Ryder Farm, which is an acclaimed residency program for artists and changemakers.

She also served as a company manager for Michael Keegan Dolan’s internationally acclaimed Irish dance company, Teaċ Daṁsa.

Ms Goodwillie has recently stepped into her role at West End House School of Arts, and she brings both international experience and a passion for fostering creativity.

Soul Talks Live is hosted by Killarney singer Grace Foley. Each month, the event invites a guest to take part in a ‘live podcast’ style conversation, where they answer the same set of questions on life, creativity and what drives them.

The series launched in August with a full audience and will continue monthly at Anam Arts and Cultural Centre.

Final events for Hugh O’Flaherty’s centenary announced

The Irish History podcast, hosted by Fin Dwyer, will record a special episode on Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty’s story on Wednesday, October 15.

Fin Dwyer releases episodes weekly about Ireland’s past and over the last 15 years the show has become one of Ireland’s longest running shows with a massive global audience.

When completed, the podcast will include contributions from a well-known author on the Monsignor, a member of the Monsignor’s family and from the Memorial Society.

Admission is free but it is a ticketed event with limited capacity.

This will be one of the final events of the 1925 – 2025 Hugh O’Flaherty Centenary Commemorations.

An Post are set to release a commemorative stamp that will be issued on October 23 for worldwide mailing.

The stamp will be available in selected post offices for at least three months.

The third event will occur at the end of the year when The O’Flaherty Memorial Society and Killarney Library host a month-long exhibition on the life story of Hugh O’Flaherty, running from December 15 to January 17, 2026.

More details will be released closer to the date. Wreaths will be laid at the memorial on mission road to mark the anniversary of his death on October 30 and the centenary of his ordination on December 20.

Earlier commemorative events included successful group tour to Rome in March and an O’Flaherty’s Town Trail Walk in August.

Gardaí seek help to locate missing woman in Killarney

Gardaí have launched a public appeal to locate 37-year-old Katarzyna Stachowiak who is reported missing from Killarney since Wednesday, October 8.


Katarzyna was last seen in Killarney on Saturday, October 4 at approximately 2.45pm.


Katarzyna is described as being approximately 5 foot 5 inches in height, with a slim build, black hair and blue eyes.


When last seen, Katarzyna was wearing thick framed glasses, black leggings, a black hoodie, knee length black jacket and black Puma runners.


Katarzyna’s family and Gardaí are concerned for her wellbeing.


Anyone with any information on Katarzyna’s whereabouts is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station on (064) 6671160, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
