Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa have been named winners at the 22nd annual Irish Golf Tour Operators Association (IGTOA) national conference.

The exclusive five star hotel and spa was presented the much sought after ‘Service Excellence Award’ during an elaborate black tie gala dinner in Tralee last week.

“We were absolutely thrilled to accept this prestigious award on behalf of our team,” Niall Coffey, General Manager at Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa, said.

“Our dedication and commitment to our friends and business partners in the golf industry has been recognised and we have thoroughly enjoyed showing their guests the warmth and charm of Kerry hospitality.”

The IGTOA Service Excellence Awards are awarded to accommodation and service providers in the golfing industry who offer a guest service or guest experience that goes beyond addressing the needs and expectation of visiting golfers and contributes to their overall Irish Golfing experience.

“The team at Aghadoe Heights consistently put their best foot forward when it comes to hosting golfers from around the world. They truly understand the needs of each guest in the hotel and their years of experience and genuine warmth and hospitality is evident throughout. We were delighted to show recognition of this by honouring them with the Service Excellence Award this year,” Denis Kane, Chairman IGTOA, said.

The evening included a repertoire of jigs, reels, and slow airs. During the performance, Kathleen Loughnane shared historical insights into the Belfast Harp Festival of 1792, where Edward Bunting recorded ancient tunes to preserve them. She also highlighted the story of a North Kerry man named Lyons who served as the harper to Lord Antrim.
Former Mayor of Killarney, Michael Gleeson, was among the attendees and praised the event for its informative and enjoyable atmosphere. He noted that the music helped dispel the gloom of recent weather and extended his thanks to Patricia and the organizing team.
The performers brought distinguished backgrounds to the Killarney stage. Mary Bergin, originally from Dublin and now living in Connemara, received an Honorary Doctorate from UCD in 2022. Kathleen Loughnane, a native of
