School raises €2,000 on Daffodil Day
St Brigid’s Secondary School recently held their annual fundraiser on Daffodil Day in aid of The Irish Cancer Society and raised a whopping €2,000.
The school went yellow for the day and students and staff wore various shades of the colour to highlight the charity.
Prizes were given for the best dressed students and staff and the sunshine added to the vibrancy of the day.
Additionally, a bake sale was held for the whole school and the array of home-baking was a sell-out.
"Many thanks to the students who provided the baking and those who gave of their time to make the event so successful. The school raised €2,000 on the day and the proceeds of the event will be presented to the Killarney branch of The Irish Cancer Society," teacher Vivienne Buckley said.
