‘Please help us find Alfie’
H
HAVE you seen this dog? Alfie's owners are at their wits' end following his disappearance in Killarney on Monday.
Aflie is a Jack Russell with white and brown markings. He was on a visit to Killarney with his owners, Clarissa Shinnick and her husband Donal O'Mahony and their two young daughters when he went missing.
Aged a year and a half, Alfie is wearing a red collar and is microchipped and registered.
Clarissa told Killarney Advertiser: "We just want him back so much. He is the life and soul of our house."
Clarissa's husband Donal took Alfie for a walk in Muckross on Monday morning. "At 10.49am while walking from Muckross House to Dinis Cottage, a cyclist came up behind Alfie and this spooked him," said Clarissa. "He ran ahead out of sight but never returned and he always would. The direction in which he was going was towards the Cardiac Steps.
"He loves tennis balls and squeaky toys. He's very friendly. He is our fifth family member. He is an indoor dog and wouldn't be used to outside conditions."
The family are desperately trying to find their pet. "We've been continuing to search for him and we have notified everyone we can think of. We have two girls and our five-year-old Ellie is incredibly fond of him. We all are," said Clarissa.
"If anyone has information on Alfie or has seen him they can contact us by phone on 085-1304013 (Clarissa) or 085-1286060 (Donal O'Mahony).
We would be so, so grateful for any help. We are absolutely devastated."
