Muckross House fourth most viewed on Google Street View

Muckross House is the fourth most-viewed Irish museum on Google Street View according to new data released by the American multi-national technology company.
The digital mapping service celebrated its 15th anniversary this week.
To celebrate, Google released lists of the top 10 ‘Most visited Places of Interest on Street View in Ireland’ and ‘Most visited Museums on Street View in Ireland’.
Muckross House was listed in fourth place on the museum’s list. Kilmainham Gaol, Titanic Experience, Cobh and Dublinia Viking Museum were the top three most visited.
“The Irish data shows the most visited places of interest along with the most visited museums on Street View in Ireland,” said a Google spokesperson.
“15 years ago, Street View began as a far-fetched idea from Google co-founder Larry Page to build a 360-degree map of the entire world. Fast forward to today. There are now over 220 billion Street View images from over 100 countries and territories - a new milestone - allowing people to fully experience what it’s like to be in these places right from their phone or computer.”
