Mastergeeha FC Wins €5,000 Texaco Support for Sport Award

Mastergeeha Football Club has been awarded €5,000 as part of the Texaco Support for Sport initiative. The local club was chosen as the Kerry winner from a competitive pool of applicants.
Founded in 1979, Mastergeeha FC has grown significantly to become one of the largest rural-based soccer clubs in Kerry. With over 400 members, the club caters to players of all ages, from under-5s to senior level.
The funding will be used to upgrade the club's training pitch floodlights, a much-needed improvement for the growing membership.
The Texaco Support for Sport initiative, now in its fourth year, has distributed over €500,000 to Irish sports clubs since its inception.
Texaco ambassador and former rugby international Donncha O’Callaghan praised Mastergeeha FC as a "very deserving winner" and highlighted the club's vital role in the local community.
Entries for the 2025 Texaco Support for Sport initiative will open in the autumn.
