Killarney to get in step to raise funds for people with multiple sclerosis

DESPITE the positively tropical temperatures we’re basking in, the launch yesterday evening of one of Killarney and South Kerry’s most popular and enduring annual events was proof that autumn has indeed arrived.
Like clockwork every September, members of the South Kerry branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland gather at the gates to Knockreer to unveil details of the annual Old Kenmare Road walk which takes place this year on Sunday, October 9.
“The 2016 event is the 14th annual walk and as always it promises to be a great family day out,” organiser John O’Shea told the Killarney Advertiser.
“We are blessed with the weather every year and new participants are more than welcome. Buses will leave The Gleneagle car park at 10am. Your participation really makes all the difference. All proceeds are in aid of the South Kerry branch of MS Ireland.”
If you would like to take part, sponsorship cards are available from John O’Shea, 087-234882; Pat O’Neill, 064-6631982; Ray O’Callaghan, 087-2917262; or Linda Pigott, 087-9224655.
