The owners of a Killarney building have been warned by Kerry County Council that they have 28 days to make the building safe.
The notice was posted on the exterior of the building of Julie’s Barbershop at 71 High St after it was the subject of an independent engineer’s report, and the owners have until September 27 to make the building safe.
The notice, which has been seen by the Killarney Advertiser, states that the building is a dangerous structure and that remedial works need to carried out to: ‘Render the building safe, such that it does pose a danger to public or any adjoining properties’.
“[This] follows an independent engineering assessment of the property as well as an inspection by Kerry County Council engineers (the details of which are not being published at this time). As you will note, the owner/s has 28 days to address the matter to the Council’s satisfaction,” said a Kerry County Council spokesperson.
