Jessie Buckley tipped for 2023 Oscar

By Sean Moriarty
Jessie Buckley is to be honoured at next year's Oscar Wilde Awards in California.
The annual awards ceremony is held by the US-Ireland Alliance to celebrate the contribution Ireland makes to film, television, and music.
Buckley joins fellow Irish actress, Tipperary’s Kerry Condon as 2023 Oscar Wilde Awards nominees.
“When Jessie started her career, Andrew Lloyd Webber said that Jessie, is ‘an extraordinary artist. She must not be allowed to be meddled with.’ Her incredible, authentic performances show that she hasn’t been,” said Trina Vargo, president of the US-Ireland Alliance.
The Oscar Wilde Awards take place in March in the run up to the Academy Awards.
Both Buckley and Condon are being tipped for Oscar nominees next year. Buckley is in line for her award following her performance in ‘Woman Talking’ while Condon’s role in ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ is also tipped for an award.
