Illegal parking warning ahead of Sunday’s big game
By Sean Moriarty
Killarney Gardai have warned spectators attending tomorrow's (Sunday) Kerry V Donegal National League match to park legally or expect to get a fine.
A capacity crowd is expected at Fitzgerald Stadium for the third round of the National League.
Kerry played Dublin in Tralee on February 5. On that occasion over one hundred parking fines were handed out – mainly for parking on footpaths and in a way that could impede an emergency vehicle.
Fines for breaches of this kind have doubled from €40 to €80 since February 1.
“There is a traffic management plan in place,” a garda official told the Killarney Advertiser.
Parking is available in St Anne’s Road, Rock Road, Lewis Road and Fair Field car park which are less than five minutes-walk from the stadium. New St car park is a 10-minute walk from Fitzgerald Stadium.
