Historic Rally to be launched on Sunday
By Sean Moriarty
The Rentokil Initial Killarney Historic Rally will be launched on Sunday at a special ceremony at the Gleneagle Hotel.
Ireland’s only dedicated rally for historic machinery will take place on December 3 and will form one of the main events in the Christmas in Killarney Festival.
Already over 200 drivers have signed-up for the event but there are only 140 places available on the final entry list giving event organiser, Killarney and District Motor Club, a welcome headache.
Sunday’s launch will get underway at 4pm and all are welcome.
“The launch is open to the public and is a great chance for the people of Killarney and Kerry to meet some drivers as well as seeing some of the country’s top historic machines up close,” said Clerk of the Course Anthony O’Connor.
“I am extending the invitation to everybody to come along for what is a fantastic day of chat and excitement as the 2022 edition of this great event is officially launched. A huge effort is going on behind the scenes to organise, what I believe, is the best one-day rally Ireland has to offer.”
