Golf ambassador Mairead’s on a par with the best
W
WHEN he received a new set of golf clubs from Santa Claus, Brian McCarthy was eager to try them out.
And luckily for the nine-year-old golf enthusiast, when he arrived at Killarney Golf Club last Saturday with his dad Derry, club captain, he met none other than the club’s girls captain and Irish International Mairead Martin.
Mairead was practising her game and to Derry and Brian’s delighted, played 10 holes with the pair and passed on some valuable tips to Brian. “Mairead is a fantastic ambassador for Killarney Golf and Fishing Club and for the game of golf itself,” said club PRO Victor Mulcahy.
After their game, Mairead presented Brian with some golf accessories.
