Goal Mile on Christmas Day raises €1,162.50 for charity
The annual Goal Mile, held on Christmas Day, raised €1,162.50 for two worthy causes.
This year, the event raised funds for Goal, an international humanitarian organisation, and the Kerry-Cork Healthcare service.
Goal's 2024 Mile project is focused on providing lifesaving aid to refugees in Sudan. The funds raised will support the establishment of aid stations to provide food, water, and medical care to millions of people fleeing conflict and famine.
Locally, the funds raised will support the Kerry-Cork Healthcare service. This vital service provides transportation for individuals from North and South Kerry to attend medical appointments at University Hospital Cork and University Hospital Limerick.
"My sincere thanks to all who attended the event and contributed both in person and online," said Anne Mangan, organiser of the event. "Such generosity was beyond our expectations and very much appreciated by both organisations. Míle Buíochas."
