If local Hollywood legend Michael Fassbender is home for the Christmas holidays - you may not recognise him – as he has completely changed his look for a new movie role.
His usual ginger hair has been dyed a platinum ashy blonde for his latest movie ‘Next Goal Wins’, the story of Dutch soccer coach Thomas Rongen who led the American Samoa soccer team from obscurity to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
It is a busy time for the Fossa man who is currently in Hawaii making the film and is also in the midst of recording a YouTube series following his attempts to qualify for the legendary Le Mans 24 hour car race in France next June.
So far, seven episodes of his Road to Le Mans series have been aired on the internet following his tentative steps in the Porsche Sports Cup Germany. His opening races have attracted factory attention from the motorsport department of the legendary German car brand.
“What do you do when you’ve conquered Hollywood? For most people, the answer would probably be: sit back and relax. Acting star, Michael Fassbender, however, has a different plan: he wants to compete as a driver at the 24h of Le Mans,” a Porsche motorsport spokesperson said. “That requires stamina and endurance – both physically and mentally and we’ll be closely involved.”
