€5000 drugs and €13,000 cash seized in Kerry

Gardaí in the South Kerry area have arrested a man in his 30s after seizing approximately €5,000 worth of suspected cocaine and over €13,000 in cash.
Shortly after 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday), Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a house in the Kenmare area and seized €5,000 worth of suspected cocaine, which will now be sent for analysis. During the search, Gardaí also seized over €13,000 in cash and drugs paraphernalia.
The man was arrested at the scene and brought to Killarney Garda Station where he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. He has since been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
The seizure was part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the South Kerry area.
