Delaney opens Blues’ new pitch
F
FAI chief John Delaney was in Killarney on Monday night to officially open Killarney Athletic’s new state-of-the-art all weather training pitch. The top man in Irish soccer was joined by Junior Minister for Sport Brendan Griffin for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the club’s grounds in Woodlawn. It was a proud moment for Athletic’s hard-working officers who, under the guidance of Chairman Mike O’Shea, have spent countless hours lobbying, planning and fundraising for this vital addition to the club’s facilities.
Kids, parents, members and players, both old and new came along and celebrated this landmark event in Killarney Athletic’s history. Children aged 6-10 can brought their boots and took part in a fun mini-blitz organised by UEFA A Licenced coach JP Mullins.
