Clifford gets his first All-Star
I
It may have been his first season at senior level but that didn’t prevent footballing sensation David Clifford from catching the eye. The Fossa native was Kerry’s standout player in 2018 and yesterday he was rewarded for his performances with one of the game’s highest accolades. Clifford has made the PwC All-Star team, a remarkable feat for such a young player and one made all the more impressive considering the disappointing nature of Kerry’s campaign.
Clifford shone during the Munster Championship and memorably gave Kerry a lifeline in the Super 8s with a superb last minute goal.
The 20-year-old is joined on the All-Star team by seven Dublin players, three Monaghan players, two Tyrone players, Ryan McHugh from Donegal and Ian Burke from Galway.
