Children learn the importance of recycling
RECYCLE RIGHT: Pupils from Holy Family NS Rathmore learn about recycling from KWD.
KWD Recycling Right representative Shauna Murphy has been out visiting schools throughout Kerry again, educating and encouraging students to recycle correctly.
The initiative follows on from the success of the ‘KWD Kids Recycling’ programme in 2010, and “Recycle Right” initiative in 2017/2018.
Shauna has visited over 24 schools throughout the county in the last number of weeks.
The goal is to further educate young people on the importance of recycling and enable students and teachers to understand the role of recycling and how to dispose of their waste and recycling correctly and responsibly.
“This will enable students to champion best practice when it comes to recycling so they can transfer this knowledge to their homes and influence greater recycling within their schools,” Shauna said.
“Once again, the reaction from the students and teachers has been very positive and KWD Recycling are confident that all involved will now have the knowledge to dispose of their waste and recycling correctly. All of this information is available on our interactive website where you can view videos on how we recycle your waste.”
If your school is interested in a visit from KWD Recycling, please contact Shauna by email info@kwd.ie.
