The Franciscan Friary will celebrate the Feast of St Francis with the annual blessing of pets at the Friary at 3pm tomorrow (Sunday).
St Francis is the patron Saint of Animals and his feast day falls on October 4. Every year the Friars mark the occasion with their annual pet blessing which always happens on the Sunday closest to the feast day.
“In keeping with the ethos of St Francis, Killarney will open its heart to all creatures great and small on Sunday. The Franciscan Friary will be a flurry of activity for the annual blessing of the animals outside the church,” Friary Administrator, Anne Marie O’Leary, told the Killarney Advertiser.
