Thousands registered for county clean up this Saturday
Motorists and all road users are advised to travel with care across the county on Saturday as thousands of volunteers take to the roads for the tenth annual County Clean Up.
For the first time in three years, the County Clean Up will take place at full capacity and almost 5,000 volunteers have registered with KWD Recycling to participate on Saturday.
The Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, Cllr Jimmy Moloney encouraged as many people as possible to take part on Saturday.
‘Hopefully the fine weather will hold and we can get a huge participation on Saturday. Everyone has a role to play, whether its joining a Tidy Towns group for the day or doing a litter pick-up along their own road or in their own estate. It’s a wonderful community-based initiative every year and I would encourage everyone to take part.
‘I would also ask road users on Saturday to slow down and drive with care as there will likely be litter-picking volunteers out and about throughout the day.’
