Investigation into death of baby boy

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a baby in an apartment complex in Killarney.
The circumstances surrounding the 11-month-old baby boy's death are not known at this stage.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 6pm this evening.
The baby was treated by emergency services personnel but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time after.
A man in his 30s with serious injuries was taken from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Kerry, Tralee.
The baby boy's body remains at the scene, at Upper High Street, which is currently preserved.
The Office of the State Pathologist was informed and a preliminary examination will be carried out by the Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster.
