This week Marian O'Doherty and Patrick Fleming reached the fantastic milestone of 25 years of employment at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club.

“On behalf of the management team and members of Killarney Golf and Fishing Club, I extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Marian and Patrick for the years of service and commitment to our golf club. They have both been key part of the team for the last 25 years and are valued by everyone here at the golf club. Marian and Patrick always have a warm smile and welcome for anyone they happen to meet in the golf club and it's part of the famous Killarney welcome that golfers talk about when they revisit memories of playing our wonderful courses. Congratulations Marian and Patrick on achieving such a wonderful milestone and we look forward to an exciting future with them both as an integral part of our team.” Adrian Brennan, the Chairman of the Management Council of the Club told the Killarney Advertiser.

KIFF Film Club to screen Gerry Adams documentary

The Kerry International Film Festival (KIFF) Film Club continues its monthly series next week with a screening of the award-winning documentary, Gerry Adams: A Ballymurphy Man.

The screening will take place on Wednesday, April 22, at 8:00pm at Cinema Killarney. Supported by Screen Ireland, the film club aims to bring modern Irish cinema to local audiences in a relaxed and social environment.
Directed by Trisha Ziff and winner of the Best International Documentary award at the 2025 Galway Film Fleadh, the film offers an intimate and uncensored portrait of the former Sinn Féin leader. Filmed over five years, it traces his journey from a teenage activist in Belfast to a key architect of the Good Friday Agreement, featuring previously unseen archival footage and personal reflections.
