Two men charged in connection with robbery in Waterville

GARDAÍ have charged two men in connection with an investigation into a robbery that occurred at a post office in Waterville, on Wednesday.
The men, aged 32 and 46 years, appeared before a special sitting of Killarney District Court on Saturday evening at 7.15pm. They remain in Garda custody.
A woman in her late 20s who was arrested on Thursday in connection with this investigation was released without charge on Saturday. She had been detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended, at Killarney Garda Station.
The robbery occurred at approximately 11am. A quantity of cash was stolen from the post office during the robbery. Three men involved in the incident left the Waterville area in a small blue car in the direction of Caherciveen/Killarney.
Gardaí responding to the incident intercepted a 03 D navy blue Mazda car. This vehicle was pursued and ultimately crashed in the Beaufort area of Killarney.
Two men were arrested and detained at Killarney and Tralee Garda stations under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
