Baler revs up to make history in Black Valley
S
SHARP intakes of breath were the order of the day as, with not an inch to spare, a gargantuan Fusion baler made its way through the Gap of Dunloe, Killarney, and into the history books today.
Mats were used on each side of the rockface to protect the machinery in what was the first time this type of vehicle was driven in the Gap of Dunloe. “It caused quite a stir for tourists,” said award-winning photographer Valerie O’Sullivan who took some eye-catching pictures of the occasion.
The baler, driven by Cormac Tangney, for John O'Connor, Contractors, successfully made its way to the Black Valley to the farm of Eugene and Mary Tangney, to bale hay for winter feeding. The Tangneys are also supporting the cancer awareness campaign #wrapitpink.
