Rare Skoda anniversary model arrives in Kerry for Rally weekend
A rare piece of Skoda’s performance history arrived in Farranfore this week as Liam Lynch’s Skoda dealership showcased the new Fabia 130.
One of the first of its kind to hit Irish roads, and the first to be registered in County Kerry, the vehicle’s arrival was timed to coincide with the build-up to the Assess Ireland Rally of the Lakes.
To mark the occasion, the Farranfore garage hosted a special motorsport evening on Thursday, where fans enjoyed a meet-and-greet with Irish National Rally champions Eddie Doherty and Tom Murphy.
The Fabia 130 is a special edition production vehicle celebrating the brand’s 130th anniversary. It is Skoda’s fastest series-produced Fabia to date, boasting a top speed of 228 km/h and an acceleration dash of 0-100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds. Under the bonnet, it features an enhanced 1.5 TSI evo2 engine delivering 174 bhp, paired with a seven-speed DSG transmission updated for faster acceleration and smoother gear changes.
Priced at €37,300, production is strictly limited to just 40 vehicles across 2026 and 2027. The model features a sports suspension lowered by 15mm, 18-inch wheels, and distinct motorsport-inspired "130" badging.
Available in four colours with blackened roofs and pillars, the car is available exclusively via pre-order at authorised dealers.
