Mayor of Killarney, Cllr Martin Grady, was among the dignitaries who attended a special celebration at Kerry University Hospital marking 100 years of Pastoral Care.
Cllr Grady praised the work of the hospital’s Pastoral Care Team, highlighting the vital support they provide to patients and families. The service includes counselling, prayer, and assistance with funeral planning and reception needs.
Pastoral Care at KUH is delivered through visits by priests, pastoral coordinators and pastoral assistants, particularly in parishes without a resident pastor. The centenary event recognised the contribution of staff and volunteers who have supported patients and their families for generations.
Minister Norma Foley TD was also present for the milestone event
