Repair works completed on Farranfore to Killarney Road
Repair works on a burst pipe at Brennan’s Glen on the N22 Farranfore to Killarney Road were completed on Wednesday, with water supplies returning to affected customers.
Uisce Éireann crews began work early in the morning, with a Stop-Go system in place to protect both workers and the public. The outage disrupted supply in Coolick, Lawlor’s Cross, Finnegan’s Cross, Glebe, Dunrine and surrounding areas.
Charlie O’Leary of Uisce Éireann thanked the community for their patience. “We understand the inconvenience caused and our crews made every effort to minimise the disruption. Water will start to slowly return to customers, though it may take longer for those on higher ground or at the end of the network. We anticipate all customers should have water restored by tonight,” he said.
Commuters faced delays on Wednesday morning as the works took place at Brennan’s Glen.
One lane was closed from 5.30am to 7.30am with a Stop-Go system in operation. Both lanes reopened between 7.30am and 9am to ease peak traffic. After 9am the road was reduced to a single lane again to allow works to continue.
