Raheen NS SNA to skydive for school pitch upgrade

Published

on

Gráinne Lenihan, a Special Needs Assistant at Raheen National School in Headford, will undertake a charity skydive on August 30th to raise funds for the school.

The skydive aims to support a "Pitch Upgrade" project, which also includes the development of a community walking track.
The skydive will involve a tandem jump from 10,000 feet, with a 5,000-foot freefall, and will take place in Co. Offaly.
Raheen National School, its parents association, and the local community are planning to improve the drainage of the school's training field and add a community walking track.
This will allow the field to be used year-round by students and the wider school community for outdoor activities, sports, and play.
The Department of Education is not funding this project, so the school is relying on community support, local expertise, donations, and fundraising efforts to create a safe and usable space for the children.
Gráinne said: "On August 30 this year I will complete a Charity Skydive in support of our school to help raise much needed funds for a 'Pitch Upgrade' and while doing so building a 'Community Walking Track'. It is a wonderful school and community, I really want to help."
