Flesk Valley Rowing Club seeks winning crew photo
The Flesk Valley Rowing Club is on a mission to find a photo of their victorious Senior Sixes team from the Killarney Regatta, held 70 years ago at Castleross.
A recent discovery by club stalwart John Hegarty unearthed a rare photo of the club's winning Senior Four team from the same era.
This photo, showsing Seamus Murphy (Oar Number 2), Miah O’Callaghan (trainer and cox), Seamus Lynch (Oar Number 4), and Danny O’Leary (Oar Number 3) andTom O’Sullivan (Oar Number 5), serves as a valuable piece of club history.
However, the quest for a complete picture remains. Hegarty believes a photo of the triumphant Senior Six crew must exist and is calling upon readers of the Killarney Advertiser to help locate it.
The additional members of the championship squad are believed to be Micheal Healy (Oar Number 6 ) and Paddy Doyle (Oar Number 1).
Anyone with a copy of the photo or information on its whereabouts is asked to contact the Killarney Advertiser at info@killarneyadvertiser.ie
