Local photographer wins award for stunning windmill image
Local photographer Elizabeth Browne has been awarded the runner-up prize in the Novice category of the Killarney Camera Club’s recent competition for her stunning black and white image of Blennerville Windmill in Tralee.
Liz captured the image on a cold February morning from Blennerville Bridge.
“The low-hanging clouds and the rising sun created the perfect lighting to highlight the windmill and its reflection in the water,” she said.
The historic windmill, built in the early 19th century, is a popular subject for photographers. Elizabeth image, with its striking use of light and shadow, captures the windmill’s timeless beauty and its picturesque setting.
