O’Connor Family honoured with prestigious music award
The O'Connor family, led by renowned accordionist Liam O'Connor, has been named as the Irish and International Traditional Band of the Year.
The family band, consisting of Liam, his daughter Saoirse, and sons Oisín and Cillian, recently received the prestigious award at The Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran, County Donegal this week
This accolade comes on the heels of Liam O'Connor being named Man of the Year 2024 by Hi Style, recognising his significant contributions to Irish music, culture, and the entertainment industry both nationally and internationally.
The O'Connor family will continue their busy schedule with a special guest performance at the Team Ireland Centenary Olympic Ball on Saturday night.
They will also be performing at the Liskennett Equine Assisted Activity Centre on November 17, and embarking on a tour of Dubai with Kerry GAA from November 21to 24.
O'Connor, a Guinness World Record holder for the fastest fingers on the accordion, continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his extraordinary talent and passion for music.
His upcoming projects include a new recording of ‘The Galway Shawl’ with Mike Denver and a new instrumental single.
