On Friday January 26, The Kerry Branch of The Irish Palestinian Solidarity Campaign will hold a screening of the the film 'Gaza' in St Mary's Church of Ireland in Killarney, with director Garry Keane and producer Alison Twomey both in attendance. Following some hugely successful educational & solidarity events in recent months, the Kerry IPSC have chosen this particular film made in 2019, "to highlight the current genocide being committed in Gaza and the West Bank".

The documentary paints a portrait of ordinary Palestinian people who attempt to lead meaningful lives beyond the rubble of perennial war. 'Gaza' brings together an eloquent, resilient and courageous group of souls, whose struggle, resilience and sense of family goes to the very heart of humanity, a people whose lives are shaped by occupation but not defined by it. The evening will be MC'd by Killarney filmmaker Eoin O' Shea, who will host a questions & answers segment with Garry & Alison after the screening. The organisers say that "this is a fantastic opportunity to learn about life under occupation & ask any questions you may to people who have direct experience." Tickets are €10, €5 concession with all funds being donated directly to 'The Amjaad Charity' in Gaza.

Former Mayor of Killarney, Michael Gleeson, was among the attendees and praised the event for its informative and enjoyable atmosphere. He noted that the music helped dispel the gloom of recent weather and extended his thanks to Patricia and the organizing team.
The performers brought distinguished backgrounds to the Killarney stage. Mary Bergin, originally from Dublin and now living in Connemara, received an Honorary Doctorate from UCD in 2022. Kathleen Loughnane, a native of
