Following on from the tremendous success of last year’s South Kerry Jobs Fair, significant work has already been undertaken to ensure this year’s programme of events is further enhanced.

Planned for Thursday, February 15 at the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney, the event promises to have even more jobs on offer as well as adding a range of workshops covering topics such as CV Tailoring, Upskilling and Interview Techniques.

It is being organised by South Kerry Development Partnership in conjunction with the Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce with support from Red Chair Recruitment, HR Buddy, Dream Jobs and The Great Southern Hotel Killarney.

Companies from a broad range of sectors including Hospitality, Health and Social Care, Engineering, Education and Training, Financial Services, Manufacturing will be in attendance.

SKDP’s Enterprise Office Joanne Griffin said that they have continued to have engagement with the employers from last year and are working with them to enhance the event further for participants in 2024.

“Employers said they were delighted with the numbers and quality of the candidates attending the event and they are hopeful of again filling an extensive number of jobs this year,” she said. “The addition of the workshops will help candidates to further develop their skills in their bid to secure employment.”

Bridget O’Keeffe, Senior Executive Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce said that the positive response they received to last year’s event offers real encouragement to develop the event further this year.

“Many employers across all sectors are struggling to find employees in what is a tight recruitment market and this event provides them with a platform to engage directly with potential employees” she said.
