16 people sue council over Killarney trips and falls
By Sean Moriarty
The Council has been sued 16 times since January 2020 by members of the public who have either tripped or fallen in the Killarney Municipal District.
Three of these have been finalised and a further 13 are ongoing.
“The amounts paid out per insurance claim by IPB Insurance Limited are commercially sensitive and furthermore, may be protected by data protection legislation and cannot be disclosed,” a Council spokesperson said.
“The payment of compensation to third party claimants is primarily a matter for our insurance company, IPB Insurance, who give a direct indemnity to the Council.”
