Quest Killarney is back on track and set to make a much anticipated return to the adventure racing circuit on October 1.

Over 2,000 adventure enthusiasts took part in 2019, the last time the event was held, and after a three year hiatus, organisers expect the event to sell out.

Quest Killarney takes participants on a tour of some of the most beautiful parts of Killarney and of the most stunning natural environments in the world. Winding its way through iconic landmarks like Molls Gap, Black Valley, Torc Waterfall, the Ring of Kerry, Muckross House, and around Killarney National Park, Quest Killarney has become renowned for its fabulous scenery as well as its challenging routes.

Run by local Killarney based company Elite Event Management, event organiser Oliver Kirwan said they "are really looking forward to welcoming back everyone to Killarney after three years to what is the biggest adventure race in the world".

"With support from local businesses and Killarney National Park, this year’s event is going to be the best Quest Killarney yet," he said.

CHALLENGE

Participants run, cycle and kayak their way along a choice of five different routes of varying lengths, depending on the challenge and pace they wish to set themselves: an 83km Expert Route, 75km Pro Route, 66km Dual Route (cycling and running only), a 55km Sport Route and a 25km Challenge Route. The great choice and varying lengths of these challenges allow for a wide range of experience and fitness levels to take part.

This year sees some slight changes to the routes and their distances, and these are detailed stage by stage with elevations and distances, terrain and advisory notes on the Quest website www.questadvdentureseries.com - which is also where anyone interested is urged to sign-up as soon as possible, and also via the links on Quest Adventure Series Facebook and Instagram.
