Killarney man enters Cannonball 4X4

By Sean Moriarty
Donal O’Sullivan, Killarney’s Cleaning Doctor, is all set to take part in the all-new Cannonball 4X4 which will overnight at the Great Southern Killarney.
Donal has teamed with Ryan Doherty of Cleaning Doctor Sligo and they will drive a Ford Raptor in the event while raising funds for the HOPE Foundation.
It was a last minute decision for the team to enter the first 4X4 Cannonball in Ireland and they only learned on Tuesday that they had secured a place on the starters list.
The road run left the Powerscourt Hotel in County Wicklow yesterday morning (Friday) and travelled through the Wicklow Mountains before a lunch-halt at the recently-restored Castle Durrow Country House Hotel in County Laois.
The convoy, which includes such exotic machinery like a Bentley Bentayga First Edition, a Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, Range Rovers and BMW X5 M-Sport, arrived at the Great Southern Killarney yesterday evening around 5pm for the first of two overnight halts.
Today (Saturday), the drivers explored the Ring of Kerry, Dromquinna Manor, The Black Valley, Gap of Dunloe and public roads within Killarney National Park.
“Every year I try and do something for charity but the last two years have proven very difficult to organise any events,” Donal told the Killarney Advertiser.
“With the Cannonball 4x4 overland adventure coming to my home town I decided on a last minute entry to take part in the event and help raise funds for HOPE Foundation.”
Donal's fundraiser can be found on GoFundMe: 'CLEANING DOCTOR HOPE foundation CANNONBALL 4X4'.
