Airport ready to welcome new Ryanair flight

Kerry Airport and Ryanair will enter discussions in the coming days on how the Kerry-Dublin route will be managed - as the service is due to come into operation next Wednesday.
The budget airline is due to take over the route following the collapse of Stobart Air in June.
Both the airport and Ryanair had been at loggerheads over the final details of the operation of the route.
In a statement issued last week, airport officials said they had yet to sit down with Ryanair to discuss the new service.
The first flight into Kerry from Dublin is due at 1pm next Wednesday with a return flight scheduled 25 minutes later.
With the debut of the flight eminent, Kerry Airport has said that it will commence discussions with Ryanair in the coming days.
“Kerry Airport is due to commence discussions with Ryanair in the coming days ahead of the airline’s planned return to the Kerry-Dublin route later this month,” Kerry Airport Ireland CEO, John Mulhern, said a statement issued yesterday (Thursday) morning. “Ryanair has notified Kerry Airport that it intends to operate the route once a day until the end of August and has committed to restoring a twice-daily service from September. We are looking forward to welcoming passengers who wish to avail of the service between Kerry and Dublin which can now be booked at Ryanair.com.”

Celebrations are underway in Killarney after Centra at The Reeks Gateway on Tralee Road sold a EuroMillions ticket worth €1,005,000 in the Friday, August 21 draw.
The lucky winner secured the life-changing sum through the special Ireland Only Raffle event after purchasing a Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw.
Store owner John Bowler, who has operated the shop for over 20 years, expressed his delight after receiving the news from the National Lottery.
“There’s a great buzz around the store and we’re absolutely delighted,” Bowler said. “We have a mix of local customers and visitors coming through our doors every day, so the winner could be anyone. While we’ve sold fantastic prizes over the years, this is by far the biggest. It’s wonderful news for Killarney.”
National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan urged anyone who bought a ticket at the store on Friday to check their numbers carefully. The ticket holder is advised to sign the back of the ticket, keep it safe, and contact the National Lottery prize claims team to arrange collection.
