An additional three hotel chains have become involved in the second South Kerry Development Partnership organised Hotel Recruitment Event taking place on Thursday, February 6.
Last year’s event resulted in almost 40 percent of the potential employees who attended the event secure long term employment as a result.
The Europe Group, the Randles Hotel Group and the O’Donoghue Ring Hotels have now joined with The Great Southern Killarney, The Cahernane, The Gleneagle Group, Muckross Park Hotel, the Aghadoe Heights Hotel, The Killarney Park and The Lake Hotel for the event which seeks to match employees with vacancies in the sector through a more informal process.
SKDP Enterprise Officer Joanne Griffin, who organises the event, said she was delighted to have the additional employers involved and it helps to make the event even more attractive to potential employees.
“The event gives potential employees the chance to meet with a large number of employers and enables both the employees and potential employers to get to know each other in advance of entering into a formal work situation,” Joanne said.
“It also offers people who may not have worked in the hotel sector before the chance to see what opportunities exist for them.”
She also pointed out that people do not have to have previous hotel experience to get involved with the event - they just need to have an interest in taking up a role in the sector.
While the event is free to attend, people must register in advance in order to ensure everyone who wants to attend can be catered for. Joanne added that the due to demand, the closing date has been extended. To register simply contact Joanne Griffin by e-mail at jgriffin@skdp.net or 066 9761615 before Tuesday, February 4.
