The popular golf day in aid of the Kerry Stars Special Olympic Club will return to Beaufort Golf Club next Saturday after a two-year absence.
The event, which takes place on June 8, is one of the biggest fundraisers for the local Special Olympic Club and comes on the back of one of the most successful seasons for the club.
“We have 95 athletes competing in various sports within the club and we need to be able to pay for travel expenses and team kits through the season,” Tom Tobin, Club Chairman, said. “We don’t get any funding from the Government or Special Olympics Ireland.”
In March this year Gary O’Sullivan from Castleisland won two medal at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi.
Teams of three are invited to enter the golf classic by contacting Tom on 087 2338575. Slots are available from late afternoon.
